Festival Season is Here!

Phew! We've been extremely busy this summer!

The weekend of July 19-21 we were in Clarksville, AR for the Johnson County Peach Festival and it was HOT---110 degrees+!  My son, Jordan, worked as our line manager and became his alter-ego of "Tiger Man".  He created the Tiger Man Tour for our festivals this summer ;)  The kids love him!
After Clarksville, we drove to Eufaula, OK for their Whole Hawg Days festival the weekend of July 26-28.  Another hot one! My oldest daughter, Chelsea, came with us as well and became "Diva Tiger" which all the little girls really loved.
After Eufaula, we went to Claremore, OK, northeast of Tulsa, for the Gatesway Hot Air Balloon Festival the weekend of August 3-4.  Unfortunately, the weather was too windy to see any hot air balloons go up, and on Saturday there were wildfires in the area and the smoke was too thick for the balloons to go up.  And it was HOT!  115 degrees for the regular temp with heat index values over 120 degrees.  We felt like we were melting :(  We still painted up lots of people!
Next, we came "home" to northwest Arkansas to the Tontitown Grape Festival the weekend of August 9-11.  Beautiful weather and we teamed up with a local face painter out of Fayetteville, Donna Holloway of Make-N-Faces.  We had a fantastic time and painted lots of people.  This was a whole family that we painted up!
After Tontitown, we literally came home and set up at the Benton County Fair in Bentonville the week of August 14-19.  We had some scary storm moments but otherwise had a great week. We even had some little girls want to be "Diva Tiger" too!
This week we'll be in Rogers, AR for the Frisco Festival the weekend of August 24-25, then next week at the Washington County Fair.  If you're in the area, come on out and see us! More pictures to come :)

Summer is here and it's HOT!

We've been super busy since my last post and things have dramatically heated up!

We've been doing lots of birthday parties in Centerton, Bentonville, and Fayetteville.

This past week we painted and glittered at a Grand Opening for a new elementary school in Bentonville called Willow Brook.  We even made the front page of the newspaper!

Then on Saturday we were a part of Cash Mob Fayetteville at Terra Tots store where we painted up everyone :)

And today we were at another elementary school event in Bella Vista where it was around 102 degrees... it was HOT!  But it didn't deter anyone from getting painted.  Lots of fun :)

Next month starts 5 straight weeks of festivals in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.  Let's just hope it's not quite so hot for those!

Spring is here!

Spring is here and face painting and glitter art is in high gear!

Team One in Arkansas just completed a 3-day festival in Siloam Springs that was super successful.  We estimate we painted and glittered over 300 people during those 3 days!

We've also done a few birthday parties in Springdale, Bentonville and Centerton, as well as the Bentonville Kids Come First Campaign Rally near Crystal Bridges Museum of Art, and the Radiant Life Easter Kids Carnival in Bentonville.

In May, we'll be at the Fayetteville Block Street Block Party on May 20, so if you're in the area, come out and see us!

Team Two in Mississippi has been extremely busy, with the Picayune Street Fair, lots of birthday parties, and the Navy Seabees Day in Gulfport.

The calendars for both teams are filling up FAST, so if you want to book us, don't wait!

Updates

I know it's been a while since I posted, but I've been busy with the move :)

We have done a few birthday parties in our new home of Northwest Arkansas and they were a blast!

Rudi and Team Two in South Mississippi have been super busy, with the BlueJack Ridge Corn Maze and Picayune Street Fair in October, the Hard Rock Casino Christmas Party and Christmas in Dixie in December, and lots and lots of birthday parties!

Savannah and I (Team One) in Northwest Arkansas will be painting at Sam's Old Tyme Hamburgers in Rogers this Saturday from 12-2pm for the Grand Opening of their play place.  We may be there on a weekly basis so check back!

We've redone our entire setup to be more efficient and take less time to setup and clean up, in an effort to help out our party hosts.  Our setup and break down now only take about 5 minutes each, but we'll still continue to arrive at our host's home about 15 minutes before we're supposed to start painting :)

A Move

It's been a while since I posted and so many things have happened!

In September, my husband took a job with Walmart corporate office in Bentonville, Arkansas and we had to figure out how to split up the business, since Rudi would be continuing in Picayune, and Savannah and I would be moving to Arkansas.

We started training a helper for Rudi in September.  Madison is catching on quickly!  Rudi and Madison will be continuing on as Savannah's Smiles Face Painting Team Two and are working every weekend at Haunted Trails in Picayune on Friday nights, and the BlueJack Ridge Corn Maze in Poplarville on Saturday and Sunday.

Savannah and I are now Savannah's Smiles Face Painting Team One and are working in Northwest Arkansas.  We officially moved Oct. 9 and have already done 2 parties!  It's a great area with very friendly people so I know we'll have a great time here :)

March and April Events

Sorry it's been so long since I've last posted!

March and April was so busy with events.  In March we painted at Tulane University in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and then birthday parties in Alabama and Picayune.  We also painted all day for the Navy Seabees in Biloxi, and attended LaFete, the face painting convention in New Orleans where we learned lots of cool, new stuff to do!

In April, we did the Picayune Street Fair in Picayune and had a super-duper weekend!  Then we painted for a birthday party in Brandon, MS the next weekend.  The next week we painted at the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi at the Ben & Jerry's for their Free Cone Day.  The next weekend we painted in Gulfport for another birthday party, and then in Picayune for a girl scout troop's Easter Egg Hunt.

Unfortunately, we've had to raise our prices just a bit due to the economy and rising gas prices, but we've tried to keep them reasonable for you!

Lots of Birthday Parties in January and February!

What a cold, wet winter we're having! But it hasn't discouraged birthday parties at all, and we had a bunch during January.

The 15th turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day (what a surprise!) for Faith Miller's birthday in Jack Read Park. A gracious, fun, loving family and a joy to paint for.

Then on the 22nd we painted in Pearl River for my friend Lore's daughter's slumber party and did all neon paints because they were going to the bowling alley with black lights afterwards. The neon paints glow under black lights and looked absolutely awesome! It gave us a really good party package idea which we'll be telling you about in the near future!

On the 29th we drove into New Orleans to do a party for one of our very first clients, Aundra! This was our second party there. They're always a fun family to paint for and this party was no exception.

The birthday parties continued in February and on the 5th we were able to paint in Moss Point for Jermaine. The kids were so much fun! It was another gorgeous day, although a bit chilly, but we had fun anyway. Jermaine's mom was even kind enough to send me some photos afterwards and a sweet thank you card. Thanks so much, Laquana! I'll work on getting the pics scanned and uploaded :)

On the 12th we drove back to Moss Point for another birthday party, this time for Corben. We had a blast! All the boys wanted to be batman, and even some of the girls! But we mostly painted beautiful sparkly butterflies.

We had another gig the same day in Biloxi after Corben's birthday and had to rush over to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum to paint lots of frogs, turtles, rabbits and even an alligator for a costumed dance for a Mardi Gras ball. The kids were a hoot and really loved the glitter. We ended up bathing them in it from head to toe!

There are lots more parties scheduled... in March we'll be heading to Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi, as well as a face painting convention in New Orleans where we'll learn lots of great new designs for you.
